Studio Archive update: Shelter Pieces statement

The Shelter Pieces (and in fact, contain) aspects of the book-based sculptures I exhibited at the Vancouver Island School of Art’s “Founder’s Exhibition” in 2015. These new works are part of an ongoing series of pieces that refer not only to books and collage, but to architectural maquettes. The works seen here, Moon Palace (2015-16) and both balcony and tower (2015-2016), have been mounted on a podium and a stool, respectively, in reference to a series of lectures I presented in the gallery during the run of the exhibition.[photo: Julie Luna] [2016]
